The whole Epstein files saga has been driving everyone crazy for months now. Most normal people have the same take: just release the damn things, no matter who gets embarrassed. Yet for some reason, every time it looked like they might actually see daylight, someone slammed on the brakes.
During the campaign, Trump was loud and proud about promising to open everything up if he got back in office. Then, once he won, he started brushing it off as a “Democrat hoax” meant to distract from his big wins. That lasted right up until the pressure got too intense (from victims, from Democrats, even from some Republicans). A few days ago he finally flipped and said yeah, let’s do it.
Yesterday, November 20, he actually signed the bill ordering the release of the government-held Epstein files.

“Perhaps the truth about these Democrats, and their associations with Jeffrey Epstein, will soon be revealed, because I HAVE JUST SIGNED THE BILL TO RELEASE THE EPSTEIN FILES!” Trump posted in his usual all-caps style.
To be clear, these are different from the 20,000+ pages Congress dropped last week (some of which name-drop Trump a few times). Back in 2018, for instance, Jeffrey Epstein apparently wrote that he was “the one able to take [Trump] down” and that he knew “how dirty Donald is.”
Trump has always insisted he cut ties with Epstein way back in the early 2000s, long before any of the really dark stuff came out, and that they only had a casual friendship that ended badly.
But now Epstein’s brother, Mark, is raising eyebrows with a pretty wild explanation for Trump’s sudden about-face.
Mark went on NewsNation and basically said the reason Trump and his team stopped calling it a hoax and started pushing for release is… because they’ve had time to clean the files first.
“I’ve been recently told the reason they’re going to be releasing these things, and the reason for the flip, is that they’re sanitizing these files,” Mark said.
He even claimed FBI director nominee Kash Patel is involved and that the scrubbing is happening at some facility in Winchester, Virginia. “There’s a place in Winchester, Virginia, where they’re scrubbing the files to take Republican names out of it. That’s what I was told by a pretty good source.”
Mark has never been shy about saying his brother had serious dirt on Trump. In earlier interviews he’s said Jeffrey hinted at it without spelling everything out, and that emails and other evidence make Trump’s denials look shaky.
Whether any of this is true or not, it’s definitely going to keep the conspiracy mill running for a while.
